Partners

 

  • Directorate of International Development of Government of Netherlands (DGIS) currently funding a programme whose purpose is to strengthen the capacity of AWLAE-Net through human and financial support as a way to enable it to effectively participate in policy development, technology transfer, as a contribution to Africa’s economic growth. This includes strengthening of the capacity of the secretariat, AWLAE-Net chapters as well as funding the establishment of the AWLAE-Net website.
  • Winrock International Because of the history and the similarity of interest and focus, Winrock International remains a key partner of AWLAE-Net, reflected in program partnerships in many of the member countries.
  • Gender & Diversity (G&D) program of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), whose mission is to build and strengthen participation of women scientists in agricultural research. Our partnership will be in mentoring of women scientists through leadership training as a basis for advancement.
  • The International Service for Acquisition of Agri-biotechnology Applications. Our partnership is geared towards raising knowledge on the biotechnology in ways that will increase adoption and overall agricultural biotechnology.
  • Regional development and political organizations such as the Africa Union Commission (AUC)and the regional Economic Communities such as ECOWAS, COMESA and SADC, among others. Our interest is to ensure that gender and other social dimensions of development are fully taken care of in the design of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP).
  • In all countries, we work with a wide range of agriculture and environment institutions, including Ministries of Agriculture, Research and Universities. Many of AWLAE-Net’s former scholars are based in these organizations.
